Day 6 Cave

　For the time being, let’s do some house cleaning. well…it’s a cave.

　I’m also gonna do some weapon maintenance. Well, it’s a wooden stick, so I just need to polish it.

　For now, let’s do some armor maintenance. I say that, but it’s really just laundry, I only have the set of plain clothes.

　My Lv hasn’t increased since I became Lv 3. It’s probably due to poor dexterity and Kibo no bo, both had the effect of Lv rising slower. There is no doubt about it.

　No, no matter how you think about it, it’s a bad status. I have no choice but to raise the Lv of my appraisal in order to see the effects….and hope that Kibo no bo doesnt Lv up.

　There shouldn’t be any problem with Ho-Ren-So, [Improved reporting, communication and consultation]. I…..I don’t need it though. I’m alone (botchi).

　It’s no use thinking about things that I don’t understand. A thing I do understand, is that [Health] and [Gymnastics] are quite useful right now. I head out to go hunting after I finish my radio calisthenics.

　There’s still no gob along the river? Don’t they need to drink water? Before I knew it, I got a [Map] skill that will record the places I’ve been to, all I need to do is just walk around.

　First of all, for safety reasons, I make sure to check out both upstream and downstream in relation to the cave.

　They’re in the middle of a quarrel and some of them can’t fight. It’s just annoying. I have skills, but they may have some troublesome skills too. It’ll be bad if one of them ends up like a thug from a V-cinema movie who goes crazy when he gets a gun.

　Although I’m just Lv3, my status is going up, the movement of my body is different than it was in the previous world. The movement skill is also working great. I’m thinking about all these random things, but at the same time I’m also exploring the forest while killing the gobs that I occasionally meet.

　However, what if I was summoned to a different world filled with swords and magic, and killed? …….Tuesday suspense? Be careful to not get cornered by the cliffs, and I might get thrown over if I get chased to the top of a cliff. If you don’t confess to something, it’s just circumstantial evidence, right? After all, the cliff might be dangerous.

　Hmmm, there’s a bunch of mushrooms. Atleast appraisal is showing me that there’s many different varieties. HP recovery and MP recovery, there are mushrooms with various effects, but the amount recovered doesn’t seem to be very high. Well, it’d be nice to be able to shoot a fireball.

　Is this a quirk of being in another world? The fact that poisonous mushrooms also have antidote effects? Ordinarily, if you can’t appraise it, no one would be willing to eat this poisonous mushroom when they’re already poisoned.

　Ah, there’s no lightning magic, flame magic, magical sword, pretty girl companion, or any elements that would raise my tension. I don’t think I’ve ever read a different-world-transfer story with so little tension….

　Usually, it would start out with a beautiful goddess! And you’re summoned by a princess! Someone that was summoned should have gotten a cheat skill, it’s impossible to overlook an entire class. Especially one filled with beautiful girls.

　Eh ~! I can only eat the mushrooms after using appraisal, there’s also some medicinal herbs I found. Then, gob, gob, gob. No, I can’t eat gob.

　There’s rabbit, which is a feast, but I don’t have any ranged weapons or magic. So I start with presence blocking, activate concealment, quietly approach and pounce.

　If you stop your feet or delay, you’ll be hit. They have high power and defense, but no speed or intelligence.

　Repeated fights, repeated collection of mushrooms, sometimes herbs, rarely rabbits. What is this life I’m living?

　There aren’t many goblins around the cave, but their levels are around 10-15. I can’t kill a Lv 15 in a single blow yet.
　There a lot more in the forest, but they’re small fish around Lv10. There’s also mushrooms, but I don’t eat them.

　Occasionally I hear the sound of a bird above my head, it’d be nice to eat some yakitori.

　I don’t have any long range attacks, but when looking up I spotted some edible nuts.

　These contacts are great; they can help me see in the dark, see things that are far away, or even see small things. It’s important to have good eyesight.

　If this was released in the original world, I would have made a contact debut. Will my eyes not heal?

　I climb up the tree, then I pick some nuts and put them in my mouth. They’re sweet, there’s a bit of a sour taste, but it’s still sweet.

　I’m not usually a fan of candy or sweets. But since I haven’t eaten any candy since coming to this world, the nuts are delicous and a bit nostalgic.

　Let’s gather as much as possible, as each one is small it won’t be a big amount. I don’t want my belly to swell.

　I can’t concentrate anymore. In such a state I might hesitate or make a mistake, if I’m hit in the heat with a club I’d surely die.

　I can use movement, but if I were to lose concentration while attacking and stumble and be hit over the head with a club. Bam….I’m dead.

　I feel relaxed when I get home, is it an affect of Hikikomori? Will I gradually stop going outside? It depends on if there’s delivery-service, I don’t have any books with me.

　In most light novels, it’s better to use up all of your magic power. It’s a standard cliche. But it’s also good for magic practice.

　I concentrate my magical power and raise the temperature of the mushroom.

　A forest should be a treasure trove of ingredients, why is it limited to mushrooms? Is there something wrong with the vegetation? Is it such a forest?

Day 4 Cave

　I wake up, eat breakfast, and I get ready to explore, I’m gonna start exploring the forest upstream. It’s not like I’m nervous or anything, I’m actually calm. I just want to eat something other than mushrooms, I want to eat something extravagant, like rice or ramen. Just anything other than mushrooms, really.

　It’s exploration, so it’s scary to go deeper. So I’ll start near the riverside where I can keep an eye on things.

　As usual, there’s an abundance of mushrooms and every other edible plant is seemingly extinct. There were a lot more upstream, but I’m weak.

　I feel the prescence of a goblin, 2 of them, Lv 12 and 11. I start the fight with [Move Lv1] and [Magic Wrapping], I begin with a sneak attack on Goblin A, it’s defeated with one blow. But [Move Lv1] is too fast! ! I let out a decent sounding “Fugi ~yuu~u~u~u~u~tsu” when I hit him!

　I’m approaching Goblin B while rolling along with Goblin A, I’m surprised, he is too. I strengthen my wooden stick with [Magic Wrapping] and attack, I’m not sure what the exact effect is, but I defeated Goblin B with 2 hits.

　It may be working or it may be a placebo, well even the head of a sardine can become holy with devotion. But there are only mushrooms, will it be dyed in Confucianism?

　Exploring deep inside, food is enough, i’m exhausted by all the mushrooms i’ve found … Oh, a Goblin, actually 3 of them. Lv14, 11 and 10. Once again with [Movement] and [Magic Wrapping], I defeat Goblin A with a single blow. Though I accidentally went too far, it’s OK. Because the distance has opened, I can attack B when theres an opening… Yeah … I got a counter. They can’t avoid my attacks when I use [Movement].

　Next is Goblin C, I alternate between avoidance and [Move]. It’s another war of evasion, though it ends in victory for me. If movement is used, it can give me an advantage in the fight, but it becomes a disadvantage if I fumble. A double-edged sword (but it’s actually a wooden stick).

　After that, I practice with conscious discipline of [movement]. If i find myself in a real battle, I want to be able to gather magic wrapping quickly. What is dangerous is [movement], it’s a secret that I’ve fumbled 2 times. I’m not crying.

　Because I took more damage than I expected, I returned to the cave sooner than I had planned . Today’s damage: I tumbled into the club, I bumped into a goblin, and I also fell onto the ground. It’s not a suicide attack, it’s just suicide. It’s a klutz’s special-killing-attack. I wasn’t paying attention to Lv, but it took a lot of time to kill that last guy. Because I was wearing the bracelet I got from him, I took it off. I’m a complete villain, but which is better? A thief, a robber, or an unemployed person?

　Alright, Lv is going up. InT has finally risen to 40 units, and the others have risen to the mid 30’s, am I stronger than the goblins in terms of status? However, I’m not convinced, that was a hard one-on-one battle at the end. Speaking of which, there’s that bracelet I got from the last goblin, let’s take it out and appraise it.

　Yeah, the power seems to go up + 1%, that’s better than nothing. Though I’m not a monster.

　In the evening, I recovered my physical strength, so I walked upstream of the river to explore. This route has only a few goblins and there should only be small fish.

　I feel a presence from upstream, it doesn’t feel like a goblin though. I step into the woods to hide, I make sure I’m not making any noise as I slowly approach.

　With my [Thousand Mile Eyes] I can see 3 people standing around in a circle. They are classmates of mine, but they’re troublesome guys and bad students at school. The so-called “Evil Class”, that’s what they call themselves. They’re loud and noisy and like to harass the nerds who are quiet.

　I appraise them while hidden, only Lv and Job can be seen, but their jobs are Great Swordsman, Dual Swordsman, and Pyromancer. Lv11 and 3, 2, there’s a big difference.

　I’m going to hide and listen in, I sat down on the riverside so I could get closer and listen to the conversation. Most of what they’re saying is useless, they’re just going from topic to topic.

　20 out of 42 classmates are girls, and the otaku seem to be playing an active part, though they’re being bad-mouthed by the bully group. Well, they will be most familiar with skills and transition to another world. Other than that, it seems that 5 girls in the selfish bitch group and a few other girls seem to have given up.

　I knew that all the classmates were upstream, but I didn’t want to go see them. Something seems to be troubling me and it looks like human relationships are muddy. I don’t want it to flow downstream. Is it environmental pollution? Will my hikikomori environment be polluted? ? Or is it a lonely environment, a neet environment? As a person, I’m already contaminated.

　Let’s go back to the cave before it gets dark, I hunt two goblins on the way. I don’t know the effect of the bracelet + 1% on the bracelet. But on my way back I try to erase my presence while moving. Yes, this is practice.

　There was a rabbit that I saw for the first time, it’s an animal thats hard to find if you can’t hide your presence, it’s meat. I also found something similar to Shimeji while I was hunting a rabbit. It’ll be my first decent dinner in a long time.

　Something like a short humanoid, an ugly face that resembles neither humans nor animals, and a stubby grayish brown body. Goblin-san, the weakest of the weakest, the smallest of the small fish, if i can’t beat it then i can’t say anything bad about it. 　I probably got the skill [Senri-eye Lv1] because I was focusing on things in the distance while moving through the forest all day. It’s convenient to have [Better Eyesight]. Appraisal and the eagle-eye will certainly help with survival. It was probably thanks to the senri-eye, that I was able to make it out of the forest safely.

　Does this really feel like a different world? Wasn’t there supposed to be a princess or king’s daughter or a beautiful girl magician summoned? How do I even leave this forest? What if the world I came from is irrelevant because this world has it’s own fate? Is it just living in a different world with no mission or goal? No, it’s better to live in a different world peacefully than to have to defeat the Demon King. But if you don’t make it through this “other world survival”, your life will end in the forest.
